Best Classic Mekong Delta Full Day Tour, Experience Like a Local

Start: Pick-up in Ho Chi Minh City (7:30 AM)
Your day begins with pick-up at your hotel in District 1 or our office in 177 De Tham Street, District 1, HCM City.

After meeting our guide, you’ll leave the city behind for a two-hour drive to Mekong Delta. The scenery shifts quickly from Saigon’s busy streets to rice fields, fruit plantations & small villages – a relaxing introduction to life in southern Vietnam.

Stop 1: Arrive in My Tho & island boat trip
Upon reaching My Tho, board a local motorboat cruise along Tien River toward the four famous islands: Dragon, Unicorn, Turtle, and Phoenix.

You’ll stop at Unicorn Island to visit a small honey farm, taste fresh honey tea, try local wines such as honey wine, rice wine, or banana wine. It’s a fun & easy way to get to know local flavors.

Stop 2: Coconut candy workshop in Ben Tre
Continue by boat to Ben Tre province, where you’ll visit a family-run coconut candy workshop. Watch how these sweet treats are made by hand & learn why Ben Tre is known as Vietnam’s “coconut capital.”

Stop 3: Lunch by the riverside
Transfer onto a smaller boat & glide through the narrow, green canals lined with palm trees. This peaceful ride leads you to a local restaurant where you’ll enjoy a Vietnamese lunch – a great break in the middle of your Mekong Delta adventure.

Stop 4: Tropical fruits & traditional music
After lunch, move to another part of Unicorn Island to taste seasonal tropical fruits right at the orchard. While you eat, enjoy traditional Southern folk music performed by local artists – a simple, charming part of Delta culture.

Stop 5: Visit Vinh Trang Pagoda
Return to My Tho by boat, then travel by bus to Vinh Trang Pagoda. This large Buddhist temple is known for its peaceful gardens & impressive statues, offering a calm final stop before heading back to the city.

End: Return to Ho Chi Minh City (around 5:30 PM)
After exploring Mekong Delta, you’ll drive back to your hotel in Saigon. Arrival time may vary slightly depending on traffic.
