Settle into a comfortable bus for the 110 km drive to Ninh Binh. The route takes you through peaceful countryside with rice fields & small towns. There’s a short break along the way before continuing to the first stop.

Morning: Bai Dinh Pagoda complex
Arrive at Bai Dinh, one of the biggest pagoda complexes in Southeast Asia. Set at the base of Dinh Mountain, the area opens up to views of river valleys & limestone peaks.

You explore key highlights such as the long corridor of 500 stone Arhat statues, giant bronze bells weighing up to 36 tons, the Quan Yin statue with hundreds of arms & eyes, and the impressive Gautama Buddha statue. The complex is huge, so your visit focuses on the most meaningful sections.

12:00: Local Vietnamese lunch
Stop for lunch at a local restaurant. The dishes are simple, fresh & typical of the Ninh Binh region – a good break before the afternoon activities.

Afternoon: Trang An sampan boat ride
Continue to the Trang An Grottoes, a stunning landscape where limestone mountains rise straight from the rice fields.

Board a traditional sampan rowed by a local boatwoman or boatman & follow the river through caves, lush valleys & small temples like Cao Son, Suoi Tien & Vu Lam. The route is relaxing, scenic & one of the most memorable experiences in Ninh Binh.

15:30: Mua Cave hike
Head to Mua Cave, known for the short but steep climb up Ngoa Long Mountain. The steps lead to a panoramic viewpoint where you can look down over rice paddies, limestone cliffs & the winding river below – a great final highlight of the day.

End: Return to Hanoi
Return to the bus around 16:30 for the journey back to Hanoi. You’ll be dropped off at your hotel around 18:30, ending a full day exploring the cultural & natural highlights of Ninh Binh.
