Day 1: Hanoi arrival & city highlights

Start: Airport welcome & first taste of Hanoi
Arrive in Hanoi, where your local guide greets you at the airport & transfers you to the city. After lunch at a local restaurant, the journey begins with an easy-paced introduction to the capital.

Stop 1: Temple of Literature
Visit the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first national university. Stroll through tranquil courtyards while your guide explains the Confucian roots of Vietnamese education.

Stop 2: Cyclo ride & Old Quarter
Relax on a classic cyclo ride around Hoan Kiem Lake & the Old Quarter. Pass narrow trading streets, colonial buildings & the vibrant Dong Xuan Market, full of local color.

Stop 3: Faith, coffee & daily life
Continue to Al-Noor Mosque, the only mosque in Hanoi, then visit St. Joseph’s Cathedral. Take a café break nearby to taste Hanoi’s famous egg coffee, loved by locals.

End: Water puppet show & dinner
End the day with a traditional water puppet show, followed by dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 2: Duong Lam village & Quintessence of Tonkin show

Morning: Free time in Hanoi
After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed morning to explore Hanoi’s streets on your own or simply unwind.

Afternoon: Duong Lam ancient village
At midday, meet your guide & drive west to Duong Lam Village, known for its centuries-old laterite houses. Visit Mong Phu Communal House, walk through ancient lanes, meet local families & sample village specialties such as rice wine, green tea & rice cakes.

Stop: Pagodas & spiritual sites
Continue to Mia Pagoda, a 17th-century temple complex, then visit Thay Pagoda, beautifully set beside Long Chieu Lake. Light incense & enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.

Evening: Quintessence of Tonkin show
After dinner, attend the spectacular “The Quintessence of Tonkin” outdoor show, combining traditional music, water puppetry & dance to showcase Northern Vietnam’s culture. Return to Hanoi after the show.

Day 3: Hanoi – Ha Long Bay cruise

Morning: Transfer to Ha Long Bay
After breakfast, depart Hanoi by private car for Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site.

Midday: Cruise check-in & bay exploration
Board your deluxe Ha Long Bay cruise, enjoy welcome drinks & lunch onboard. Spend the afternoon discovering limestone islands, hidden corners of the bay & onboard activities – swimsuits recommended.

Evening: Cruise experience
Relax on deck, enjoy dinner & the peaceful atmosphere of the bay. Overnight on the cruise.

Day 4: Ha Long Bay – Hanoi

Morning: Bay activities & brunch
Wake up surrounded by karst scenery. After breakfast, visit Ha Long caves or enjoy light morning activities before brunch onboard.

Midday: Return to Hanoi
Disembark around noon & transfer back to Hanoi by private car. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 5: Ninh Binh highlights – culture & nature

Morning: Drive to Ninh Binh
After breakfast, travel through countryside landscapes to Ninh Binh with a short break along the way.

Stop 1: Bai Dinh Pagoda complex
Explore Bai Dinh Pagoda, the largest pagoda complex in Southeast Asia. Visit highlights including 500 Arhat statues, massive bronze bells, the Thousand-Armed Quan Yin & Gautama Buddha statue.

Lunch: Local cuisine
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant with Ninh Binh specialties.

Stop 2: Trang An boat journey
Take a peaceful Trang An sampan boat ride, drifting through limestone mountains, caves & temples such as Lam Cave, Vang Cave, Dai Cave & Vu Lam Temple.

Stop 3: Hoa Lu Ancient Capital
Visit Hoa Lu, Vietnam’s ancient capital from the 10th century, and learn about the early dynasties of Dai Co Viet.

End: Return to Hanoi
Head back to Hanoi & enjoy free time in the evening. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 6: Departure

Morning: Last moments in Hanoi
After breakfast, enjoy free time in the Old Quarter for shopping, strolling or another cup of egg coffee. Transfer to the airport for departure.
