Best 5-Day Explore Hanoi to Lan Ha Bay Cruise, Sapa Trek & Fansipan

Day 1: Hanoi → Ha Long Bay → Lan Ha Bay

Start (8:30 AM): Pick-up in Hanoi
Your guide & driver will meet you at your hotel or private address. Begin the journey to Ha Long Bay with a short rest stop midway.

Late Morning: Tuan Chau Marina check-in
Arrive at Tuan Chau (11:45–12:00) and transfer by tender to La Pandora Cruise.
On board, enjoy a welcome drink, meet the crew & receive a quick safety briefing.

Stop 1 (13:00): Lunch & cruising
A Vietnamese seafood lunch is served as the cruise sails past Con Vit Islet and the limestone formations of Lan Ha Bay.

Stop 2 (16:00): Kayaking & swimming
The cruise reaches Ong Cam Area, a quiet and scenic corner of Lan Ha Bay. Spend the afternoon kayaking or swimming in clear turquoise water surrounded by dramatic karst cliffs.

Stop 3 (17:30): Sunset party & cooking demo
Return to the cruise to drop anchor for the night. Join a fun cooking class (spring rolls) and enjoy a sunset party with local wine & fresh fruit on the sundeck.

End of Day (19:00): Dinner & free time
Enjoy dinner at the restaurant, then spend the evening however you like – squid fishing, watching a movie, having a drink at the bar, or simply relaxing in your cabin.

Day 2: Dark & Bright Cave → Hanoi

Early Morning (06:00): Tai Chi & sunrise
Start your day with peaceful Tai Chi on the sundeck while watching the sunrise over the bay.

Stop 1 (06:30–07:00): Light breakfast & cave visit
Have a light breakfast before taking a traditional rowing boat to explore Dark & Bright Cave – a tranquil grotto known for its quiet waters and limestone archways.

Stop 2 (09:15–10:00): Check-out & early lunch
Return to the cruise, relax, pack your bags & enjoy an early lunch on board.

Late Morning (12:00): Disembark → shuttle to Hanoi
Transfer by tender back to Tuan Chau Marina and board the shuttle bus to Hanoi.

Afternoon (15:00–15:30): Hotel check-in
Arrive in Hanoi & check in to your hotel.

Evening free to explore Hanoi’s food & nightlife scene.

Day 3: Hanoi → Sapa → Cat Cat Village

Start (Morning): Breakfast & hotel check-out
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before departing for Sapa.

Morning Drive (6:30–13:00): Hanoi → Sapa
Take the highway toward Lao Cai with two rest stops.
Arrive in Sapa around 13:00, where your guide welcomes you for lunch featuring local Vietnamese dishes.

Stop 1 (14:30): Trek to Cat Cat Village
Walk to Cat Cat Village, home of the Black H’mong people. Trek down to the valley to visit the waterfall & the French-built Hydraulic Power Station. Enjoy photo stops at the bridge & scenic viewpoints before hiking uphill to meet your bus back to Sapa.

End of Day (16:30): Dinner & overnight in Sapa
Return to Sapa Town for dinner & an overnight hotel stay.
Trekking distance: ~3.5 km (2 hours).

Day 4: Sapa → Y Linh Ho → Lao Chai → Ta Van

Start (7:00–8:30): Breakfast & check-out
Enjoy breakfast, check out, and prepare for a full day of trekking.

Stop 1 (8:30): Long trek through Muong Hoa Valley
Begin trekking through terraced rice fields & along Muong Hoa Stream toward Y Linh Ho & Lao Chai — Black H’mong villages with stunning mountain scenery.

Trekking distance: ~12 km (4 hours).

Stop 2 (12:00–13:30): Lunch at a local house
Enjoy a homemade Vietnamese lunch prepared by a local family.

Stop 3 (Afternoon): Arrive Ta Van Village
Continue to Ta Van, home of the Dzay ethnic group, and explore the village’s culture & landscapes.

End of Day (14:30–15:00): Transfer back to Sapa
A car picks you up and takes you back to Sapa Town.
Check in to your hotel, rest, then enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.

Evening:
Free time. Try grilled street snacks or, if it’s Saturday, visit Sapa’s unique Love Market.

Day 5: Fansipan Peak → Hanoi

Start (7:00–8:30): Breakfast & check-out
Have breakfast and check out of your room.

Stop 1 (8:30): Fansipan Cable Car
Transfer to the cable car station and enjoy a 20-minute ride through spectacular mountain scenery.

Stop 2: Summit of Fansipan
At 2,800 meters, explore the pagoda complex, take photos, and hike ~600 steps to the summit of Fansipan – the Roof of Indochina.
Total time: ~1.5 hours.

Stop 3 (12:00–13:30): Return to Sapa & lunch
Take the cable car back down, return to Sapa Town, and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

Afternoon Break (13:30–14:45): Free time
Relax, wander the town, or take a quick shower at the hotel’s public bathroom.

End (15:00–21:45): Drive back to Hanoi
Meet the guide, depart Sapa, make two rest stops, and arrive in Hanoi around 21:30–21:45.
The tour ends upon drop-off to your hotel in Hanoi.
